Accident on Highway 41 on the Twin Bridge - Tri-State News, Weather & Sports

Both lanes of 41 open following wreck on the Twin Bridges

Two vehicles were involved in an accident Monday afternoon in the northbound lane of the Twin Bridges that caused traffic to come to a standstill.

Henderson County Sheriff's Office says an SUV was stalled in the right hand lane causing a semi to swerve quickly into the left lane.

The propane tanker truck behind the semi had to stop quickly, which caused the next vehicle in line to rear end the truck.

Officials first believed the truck was leaking and closed the northbound lanes to traffic for about 45 minutes.

When authorities found no leak, one lane of traffic was opened until all vehicles were cleared from the bridge.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle that hit the tanker truck was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic was slowed for around two hours, but is now running smoothly.
