MT. VERNON, IN (WFIE) -

A vehicle slammed into the Four Seasons Motel near Mt. Vernon Monday, causing a lot of damage but, thankfully, no injuries.

Authorities tell us they believe the driver was having a medical emergency while driving down SR 62.

The vehicle ran off the road and hit the office and an unoccupied room, causing lots of damage and starting a small fire.

It was quickly put out by the Black Township Fire Department when they arrived.

The driver was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The owner of the motel, Rodney Cox, tells 14 News insurance will cover the damage. He says he's very happy and fortunate no one was staying in the room when the accident happened.
