EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The Ford Center was rocking last night to the sounds of Luke Bryan. In fact, it was a sold out crowd who heard the up and coming country music artist.

It was the first stop on his nationwide tour and Ford Center officials say it's big for Evansville.

"Evansville's definitely a good country market and being this close to Nashville when he popped up here," says Scott Schoenike, Executive Director for the Ford Center. "We also had a number of agents and promoters who came up to take a look and that will only bode well for the future. So you know country is hot right now and continues to sell really well."

More big acts coming to the Ford Center such as Alan Jackson and Kid Rock.
