Indiana State Police say a Francisco man has been arrested and charged with murder following a shooting in Gibson County Wednesday night.

They say 23-year-old Austin Blaize is currently being held without bond in the Gibson County Jail.

Authorities were called to Indian Hills Subdivision in Fort Branch around 7:00 p.m. on County Road 45 East.

According to the Vanderburgh County Coroner, the victim's name is 47-year-old Terry Monier. Indiana State Police tell 14 News he has died of his injuries at Deaconess Hospital. Officials say an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

State police say earlier Wednesday, Blaize and his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend got into an argument. Then later, around 7:00 p.m., Blaze went to his ex-girlfriend's house. His ex-girlfriend's father and two children belonging to Blaize and his ex-girlfriend, were also inside.

We're told he went around to the back of the home, opened up the back garage door and walked inside.

"Once he gets inside the house, he sees the new boyfriend and we've been told he had a weapon in his hand," says Sgt. Todd Ringle with ISP. "He sees the new boyfriend and actually tries to fire the weapon. For whatever reason, it does not go off. There's an altercation and as he is leaving the area. He fires a couple more rounds through the door and that's when the father that lives there was shot."

The entire subdivision was on lock-down while authorities searched for Blaize. We're told he was arrested at his grandmother's house in Francisco.

Officials say they hope to have more information to release on this Thursday morning.
