Winter Storm Clips Commonwealth

A winter storm moves through Kentucky overnight leaving messy roads, a few accidents, and some area schools closed for the day.  We'll have the latest on conditions with live team coverage.  And any additional school closings or delays will be added immediately.

Campus Shootings

Authorities say two people were shot and killed and a teen wounded in the parking lot of an eastern Kentucky community college in Hazard.  In St. Louis, police say a part-time student burst into the office of an administrator at a downtown business school and shot the man in the chest, before turning the gun on himself.

Gun Task Force Proposals

The latest poll of American attitudes about gun control would seem to favor President Obama as he unveils today a wide-ranging package of steps for reducing gun violence. The Associated Press-GfK poll suggests that nearly six in 10 Americans want stricter gun laws following the Connecticut school shootings. A huge majority favors closing the gun show loophole on background checks.

Tracking the Flu

The nationwide flu epidemic has caused area hospitals to implement visitation restrictions in an effort to cut down on flu cases.  We'll have the details.

So stay warm and we'll see you on Sunrise.
