LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville mother is facing charges after police said she used a fork to burn her 12-year-old daughter's neck.

According to an arrest warrant, on October 17 police said Rebecca Devine, 41, took a fork that had been in a skillet of hot grease and placed it against her daughter's neck.

The girl suffered a four inch burn according to police.

A police report was filed after the girl was treated at Kosair Children's Hospital.

Devine is charged with second degree abuse of a child. She was taken into custody Saturday night.
