Flooded road causing problems for school goers

Posted: Updated:

Haines Road, one of the main access roads to South Terrace Elementary School in Posey County, is flooded.

Buses had to be rerouted this morning, causing school to start about twenty minutes late.

School officials say it's common for Haines to flood but that it hasn't been this high in a long time. This causes issues for everyone trying to get to the school.

"We don't allow the buses to come down this road at all, obviously. They know not to go through water. They have to go all the way around," said Kelly Carlton, school principal.

If you need to get to South Terrace this week ,you'll have to take Highway 66 to Stierly Road.

There are 'high water' signs to warn you.

This is not the only flooded road in Posey County. Some others are Raben Road, Ruby Lane and Woods Drive.
