(LOUISVILLE, KY) University of Louisville Senior Point Guard, Peyton Siva became the school's 64th player to score 1,000 points in his career on Saturday.

Siva accomplished the feat on a classic Peyton Siva move. Late in the first half, the six foot guard drove to the basket and shot a scoop shot that banked high off the glass and fell through the net. The always humble Siva was happy about his accomplishment, but want to make a big deal out of it. " It's just a great honor, and I'm very blessed, and I thank God for blessing me with this opportunity," said Siva.

While Siva didn't want to talk about the achievement, his teammates had no problem acknowledging what their leader means to them. "He's been here longer than anybody here. He's just a naturally born leader, and also our leader. He just tries to lead every way he can," said Sophomore, Wayne Blackshear. Ever the jokester, Chane Behanan made light of his teammates demeanor. "A thousand points. That's a lot of points. I mean, he's a ball hog for one. No, I'm just playing. I'm happy for him. I mean. Look at him. He's happy. Peyton! See, told you. He's happy he got his thousand points and I'm happy for him," said Behanan.

U of L Head Coach, Rick Pitino has always spoke glowingly about his point guard, and said Siva was one of his favorite players of all time to coach. "I think every now-and-then in life, you come across a Billy Donovan you come across a Peyton Siva. They're few and far between where they don't have any of what we all have, the human frailties in life," said Pitino.

Peyton Siva and his Cards are next in action on Monday night at Connecticut.
