The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF2 tornado ripped through Livingston County, Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.
Officials say the tornado began around 3:15 p.m. on the southwest side of the city of Hampton and traveled northeast along HWY 838, ending about 1.5 miles northeast of Hampton.
A local church was destroyed in the storm when its sanctuary collapsed. The NWS says another church had its steeple and a few shingles blown off.
They say homes and trees also saw minor damage.
