EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
An Evansville man can add a new title to his resume, one that may get him a few second looks: Hottest Husband!
Dave Huffman, the webmaster at Deaconess Hospital, just won Katie Couric's "Hot Husband Twitter Contest".
Dave says he's taking this all in stride. He joked saying his ego wouldn't fit in the door at the office today.
Easy to kid around now, but when this all started and he found out he was in the running for this title he wanted to cut and run, get out of it somehow.
Earlier this week Dave and his wife, Shawnda, who is a local radio personality flew out to New York for a taping of Katie Couric's talk show.
The show aired Friday, though we don't get it here in the Evansville area, and Dave was announced the winner!
He says being on the show was fun, but nerve-wracking and that he even though he might pass out before going on camera because he hadn't eaten.
Luckily that didn't happen and he's got a lot to smile about.
He says even though the contest was called "hottest husband" it wasn't all about physical appearance.
"Katie really focused on the fact that it's not necessarily about us looking like a million bucks, it's about how we make our wives feel like they look like a million bucks so once she, I mean I was already cool with it, but when she kind of made that determination it really made it easy to talk about on the show and everything," said Huffman.
So the best part is, for winning, Dave and Shawnda get to start planning a romantic getaway.
They won a week-long, all-expenses paid vacation to Jamaica.
