Two people have died in a house fire in Wayne County, Illinois.

The police department says they have been identified as 42-year-old Steven Milner and 43-year-old Sherri Fulcher.

According to Fairfield Police, it happened at 5 a.m. Friday at a mobile home at 706 Southwest 5th Street in Fairfield.

Two officers on routine patrol smelled smoke and tracked it to the home. They then called Fairfield Fire Department.

Police say a male and female were found dead in the back of the home.  Their names have not been released.  A dog was also found dead.

Officials say the fire was under control in just minutes and now they investigating how it started.  No foul play is suspected.
