Sad, sad story

What a sad and just really crazy story I followed today.  A 10-year-old boy had part of his nose bitten off by a pit bull in Henderson County yesterday afternoon.  Today I was tracking down the latest on that, which ended up including an interview with the doctor who treated him at Methodist Hospital.  I wasn't expecting that, it just kind of fell into our lap when we showed up at the hospital for our live shots.

We're still waiting to hear exactly how the boy's surgery went, but we're told his nose was reattached.  That sounds like a good start.  The craziest part of this whole thing is that the dog that bit the boy SWALLOWED the nose.  They had to do a surgery to get the nose out—just absolutely bizarre.  The dog had to be put down, but hopefully the little boy ends up being fine.

It was a bit of a slow day that ended in some hectic moments, trying to get the story finished.  You likely didn't notice this on tv, but we had to at the last second move my story down a little lower.  I was supposed to be first after weather, but the video wasn't ready in time.  That is mostly my fault—wasn't editing fast enough I guess!  Luckily, on air all looked ok, and at the end of the day, that's a very good thing.  We call that "clean air" when there aren't noticeable mistakes.  And "clean air" rules!

Now time to rush on to the next thing—another yoga class.  Too bad it's not really relaxing for me.  More like being a little confused about what's going on and feeling like I'm really bad at it!  Ha!  Oh well, here's to trying again!

Until next time,

Erin
