Agawam fire officials sent a pregnant woman to the hospital Thursday night after they responded to calls for a kitchen fire on Ellington Street.
Officials said the kitchen was heavily engulfed when they arrived on scene. They were able to knock it down quickly.
The woman is in stable condition at Baystate Medical Center Thursday night.
Officials are investigating the cause. They estimate there is about $40,000 to $50,000 in damage.
