Is it Friday yet?? I wish! Today was one of those days where things just don't go the way you hoped! It happens, of course, but it's never much fun:)
I ended up doing two stories today: the first was about a man police suspect of robbing two Evansville businesses and attempting to rob a third, the other about five people in Evansville arrested after police found children living in filth in their home.
That wasn't what I was setting out to cover, though, at the beginning of the day! I was trying to do a completely different story, but as the hours passed I figured out it just wasn't happening. People didn't call back, which, in this case, meant no story for me! Then, I tried a different idea. It, too, didn't pan out. Thus, how I ended up with the neglect story. In the end, it all worked out, but not exactly the way we'd planned!
Hopefully I can carry over some of those stories ideas to other days so they don't go to waste:)
Just goes to show, it may look like we've got it all together (or maybe it doesn't, haha!) on the news, but sometimes it's a bit of a struggle to get to that point!
Here's to hoping tomorrow goes a little more smoothly!
