EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

An attempted armed robbery occurred Tuesday night on the east side of Evansville, and police say they think the suspect is the same person responsible for a couple other recent holdups.

There is a common element in the crimes. Police in each instance the man's disguise is a paper towel held up to his mouth or face. That's why they have dubbed him: The Quicker Sticker Upper, after the popular product tagline.

On Tuesday night around 9:20, the suspect entered the Premiere Tan on Washington Avenue and police say he was covering face with a rag, walked into the salon, showed a handgun and demanded money. A store employee says he was looking around a bit before trying unsuccessfully to get money.

The surveillance photos obviously aren't close looks, but police are hoping someone may recognize the person or have seen something.

Authorities say he was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash when he hit the Sally Beauty Supply on the west side Monday night and at the Hacienda on First Avenue on December 28th.

In each case, police say the man displayed a handgun.
