LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Specially priced passes for this year's Forecastle Festival will go on sale six months before the three-day weekend musical event.

A very limited number of the weekend passes will be available for purchase beginning Friday, January 11 at noon exclusively through ForecastleFest.com. The $100 ticket includes all applicable fees and service charges.

The Forecastle Festival is considered one of the nation's premiere weekend music experiences. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it among the "Top 33 Festivals and Tours of 2012." This year's festival takes place July 12 through 14 at Louisville's Waterfront Park.

Since 2002, the festival has featured more than 500 bands, 100 artists and 150 environmental and outdoor recreational organizations. Previous musical guests have included The Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, The Smashing Pumpkins, DEVO and many more.

Full ticketing options, including VIP, travel packages and single-day tickets as well as the festival lineup will be revealed soon.
