The Tell City Police Department says they have been investigating a string of multiple vehicle thefts in and around the Tell City area the last couple of weeks.
Officials says all but one vehicle had been recovered up until January 4, 2013.
Authorities say they have also been investigating two separate burglaries in Tell City.
Police say one of the burglaries occurred either on December 30, 2012 or December 31, 2012 at the Tell City Jr. Sr. High School band building located in the 800 block of 15th Street.
Officials say during this burglary, a 1998 Kawasaki Mule was taken. They say they suspect(s) took the utility vehicle out of the building and were able to get it out of the fenced in area by breaking open the enclosed locked gate.
Tell City Police say the other burglaries occurred at the Tell City Pretzel on or about December 31, 2012. They say during this incident several items were taken.
Authorities say on January 2, 2013 a vehicle was stolen from the Troy area and a report was taken by the Perry County Sheriff's Department.
Shortly after the report Tell City Officers say they spotted this stolen vehicle in Tell City.
When officers tried to stop this vehicle, the vehicle fled and came to a rest on a dead end where the suspect(s) ran from the scene. Police say they were not able the suspect(s).
On Thursday January 3, 2013, authorities detained two male subjects after they ran on foot from the police. Police say one of the males matched the description of the suspects that fled in the stolen vehicle on January 2, 2013.
Upon detaining these two suspects, the investigation continued reference to stolen vehicles and burglaries. From this investigation, officers learned the two that had been detained were allegedly involved with the burglaries and vehicle thefts. Officers were then able to locate the stolen Kawasaki Mule that was taken from school property. In the early morning hours of January 4, 2013 a stolen truck that had not been recovered was located.
The two suspects, 18-year-old Christopher Knable and 18-year-old Tyler Glasgow, both from Tell City, were arrested and charged with multiple counts of Auto Theft, Theft and burglary. Both were incarcerated in the Perry County Jail.
Officials say the investigation is on going as information comes in reference to more people possibly being involved.
