Evansville Police say they arrested two men after responding to an armed robbery in the 600 block of Jefferson Sunday night.

Police were called to the area after they say a pedestrian was robbed at gun point and struck in the head with the gun. EPD says he was also kicked and punched several times by a group of suspects.  Officials say the victim's wallet was taken during the robbery.

Officers arrived and say they saw two people running from the area. Both were caught after brief foot chases.

Antonio Tolbert, 19, was arrested for the Armed Robbery. He denied any involvement in the robbery, despite being in possession of the victims' wallet at the time of his arrest. He also faces battery and resisting charges.

Julien Hinton, 20, was arrested for Possession of a Handgun without a Permit and Resisting Law Enforcement. Hinton is on probation for a prior conviction for possession of a handgun without a permit. Investigators are still working to determine if Hinton was involved in the robbery.
