Some motorists are speaking out on Sunday night, saying just how dangerous they believe the intersection of State Road 66 and University Parkway really is.
Those 14 News spoke to say they're upset that more hasn't been done in the past to make this intersection safer, and they're hoping something will now be done in light of Sunday morning's crash.
Drivers say the intersection of State Road 66 and University Parkway can be difficult to handle, since there is little visibility looking to the west. They also say there is just one stop sign at the intersection, which they believe is not enough to properly caution drivers.
Drivers also say they aren't surprised that this accident happened here, but that they are saddened that further precautionary measures weren't taken to possibly prevent it.
"I think this intersection demands, not necessarily a stoplight, but at least a caution light. Something that's incredibly visible. So, that people who are coming over that hill can actually, you know, see what's going on," driver Francesca Ball said.
When asked whether or not they believe the elderly age of the victim was a factor in Sunday's accident, drivers 14 News spoke to say they don't believe that matters, as they too have had close calls at this intersection.
We will have more driver reaction on this tonight on 14 News at 10.
