MUHLENBERG CO., KY (WFIE) -

A Friday traffic stop by Kentucky State Police turns into the arrest of the driver on felony drug charges.

State police say on Friday around 5:35 p.m. on N. Main Street in Greenville, troopers pulled over a 1994 BMW passenger car for traffic violations. They say the driver, 30-year-old Jessi A. Abshire, was cited for those violations.

During the course of the traffic stop, troopers has reason to believe that controlled substances were located inside the vehicle. A search found that about 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, items used to ingest and distribute controlled substances, and prescription medication was found in the vehicle.

Abshire was then lodged at the Muhlenberg County Detention Center for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense Methamphetamine.
