MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE) -

A Hopkinsville man has been arrested after a traffic stop that lead to a foot pursuit.

On Thursday, around 3:50 p.m., a Trooper made a traffic stop on Hall Street in Madisonville on a 2001 Chevrolet Impala.

The vehicle turned from Hall Street onto South Harrig Street and pulled over. The driver immediately exited the vehicle and ran away down South Harrig.

KSP Troopers and the Madisonville Police Department responded. 

A trooper found the suspect and began chasing him behind homes on East Broadway. The trooper and Madisonville Officers caught the suspect near South Daves Street at around 4:11 p.m.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Courtney D. Williams of Hopkinsville, KY, was detained, and sent to the Hopkins County Jail and charged with the following offenses:

1) No Registration Plate
2) No Insurance
3) Operating on a Suspended Operator's License
4) Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree (on foot)
5) Execution of Warrant for Other Agency
