EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The EVSC started back from their break with a celebration of an outstanding employee.

The Cause for Applause Employee of the Month Award was given to Scott School's custodian Tony Williams, who was pretty surprised about it.

One parent wrote, Tony is loved by all the students and even came to a youth football game to show his support.

They say Williams always puts a smile on their faces, but Tony feels it's the other way around.

"Getting recognized for this, it wouldn't matter to me. To me, it's just the way I am. Just moving, keeping people happy. Keeping the kids happy, and seeing their smiling faces. That's what it's all about," Tony said.

Williams is the third recipient of the award. Anyone can nominate an EVSC employee on their website. Click here to nominate an EVSC employee.
