VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

Tuesday afternoon, 17 Vanderburgh County office holders were sworn in at The Centre. Among them superior court judges, school board members, county council members and county commissioners.

The ceremony also recognized our veterans. In addition to a presentation of colors, county employees and office holders who have served our country and their family members who have served were recognized.

"This is an exciting day. It's very nice to have a local swearing in and all these other elected officials and I think very special to be recognizing all of our veterans today. That is super. It was a new addition and I think it's one that was very welcomed," said Vaneta Becker, State Senator District 50.

"It was very nice that they honored the veterans today and included us in the services," said US Marine veteran, Bob Rider.

Mike Blake hosted the ceremony.
