EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
In this new year, a common New Year's resolution is swearing off sweets. But, the Girl Scouts hope that doesn't apply to their cookies.
That's because their cookie sales begin on Wednesday. Local girl scouts are gearing up for the largest fundraiser of the year.
"It teaches them how to work together as a team in cookie booths. It teaches them money management. It teaches them how and go and talk to strangers, people that they don't really know. It gets them goal setting so that they know how to reach their goal, they track their goal as they go along. They get the rewards for how good they do," said Sherry Tynes, a Girl Scout Leader.
The new year is also bringing a new cookie: the Mango Cremes.
Scout leaders say throughout the next few weeks, you will see the girls out in neighborhoods and grocery stores, ready to take your orders.
