HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -

Henderson Police say they are investigating a stabbing.

Dispatch says it happened just after 9 Tuesday morning at 840 N. Adams in Henderson.

Investigators say that 61-year-old David Wiley Sr. and 58-year-old Matthew Cosby had been arguing over money.  They say the men ended up in a struggle, during which, Cosby stabbed Wiley in the abdomen with a kitchen knife.

A couple of neighbors tell 14 News that the neighborhood is a busy one and they have seen some recent thefts there.

HPD Public Information Officer Jennifer Richmond says the North Adams Street area is a safe one and that officers were surprised on Tuesday morning to hear of something like this happening.

Richmond tells 14 News, luckily, an officer was already nearby responding to a gas leak when he heard about the stabbing.

Police say Cosby was arrested for Assault - 2nd Degree, which is a Class C felony, and taken to the Henderson County Detention Center.

Officials say Wiley was taken to Methodist Hospital in Henderson and is listed in fair condition.
