MAGOFFIN COUNTY, KY (WAVE) -

A Magoffin County, Kentucky boy with a larger than life dream is continuing to inspire people around the world.

Dalton Dingus is terminally ill, suffering from cystic fibrosis, and since his quest for Christmas cards went viral he broke the record for most Christmas cards to date.

Dalton has received more than 700,000 cards.

On Christmas Eve alone, Dalton's mother said he received between 40,000 and 50,000 cards.
