LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A one-car accident killed a Louisville man and sent two other people to a hospital with serious injuries late Wednesday night.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 24-year-old Alfredo Zepeda Rodriguez. He was a backseat passenger in the car and died of multiple blunt force injuries.

The accident happened just before 11 p.m. Wednesday on Newburg Road near Buechel Bank Road and Appliance Park.

Louisville Metro Police said the driver lost control and hit a tree. It was not immediately clear what caused the accident, but police said wet road conditions might have been a factor.
