Two dead after car strikes tree in Christian Co.

Two people are dead following an accident in Christian County.

Kentucky State Police say 39-year-old Shawn Patterson was traveling south on KY 1914 when he failed to stop at the intersection at KY 800, striking a tree head on.

Patterson and his passenger, 39-year-old April Lykins, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither Patterson nor Lykins were wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor in the accident.
