Police: Armed men invaded Owensboro home; accused of robbery and sexual assault

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -
Police find three men walking around a neighborhood, and end up charging them with a brutal, violent crime.
Around 1:30, Friday morning, Owensboro dispatched received a 9-1-1 call from the 2200 block of Lancaster Avenue. Before the line was disconnected the dispatcher heard a "verbal altercation" between two males.
The Owensboro Police Department patrol units responded to the neighborhood to attempt to figure out the location of the disturbance.
That's when officers noticed three men walking around the neighborhood. They were taken into custody for questioning.
Authorities say their investigation has revealed the men had forced their way into a home in the neighborhood.
One man was reportedly armed with a shotgun and the two others were armed with knives.
They are accused of physically assaulting the residents and stealing from them. A female resident reports that the men forced her to perform a sex act on them.
Three men now face 1st degree felony charges of burglary, robbery, and sodomy: 19-year-old Keelan D. Walton of Owensboro, 20-year-old Chavez C. Byrd of Owensboro, and 21-year-old Christopher R. Byrd.
The men are now being kept in the Daviess County Detention Center.
