It was delivery day at one local hospital. Not babies, but toys!
The 911 Gives Hope program recently held a toy drive, collecting gifts for kids in area hospitals.
Thursday, crews unloaded box after box at St. Mary's Hospital for Women and Children. The staff there said it was overwhelming to see a group of law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs, and local media can come together to collect the thousands of toys just for the kids.
They also expect that the toys will last beyond the holiday season.
"And what's great is that the community is so generous that lots of times we are able to give throughout the year, at least in our winter busy time season," said Carlene Oliver with St. Mary's.
Brothers and sisters of the children in the hospital also got toys.
