Kenergy employees go back in time

Some current Kenergy employees might not even know it, but there's a 25-year-old time capsule buried on the grounds of the Owensboro office.

And later Thursday, the company is going to dig it up.

According to Kenergy officials, the time capsule is buried near the flagpole at the Owensboro Administration Building, which is located on Fairview Drive.

It was originally planted to celebrate Green River Electric's 50th anniversary.

To help give you an idea of how long ago this was, Kenergy didn't even exist when the time capsule was buried.

This little piece of 1987 is scheduled to be dug up around 1 p.m. on Thursday, weather permitting, of course.

If you'd like to check out what's in the time capsule yourself, you can stop by the office any time during the next week.
