My Tuesday work day is just about to wrap up, and it's not even noon yet! (A benefit of rising and shining in the middle of the night:)) Yesterday, however, I did not make very good use of the rest of the day. Things started off well, with a great catch-up lunch with two lovely high school friends (and a husband—theirs, of course:)). Then… came a nap. Then tv. Then back to bed for a few more hours. Not exactly productive. Ah well, you'll have that! Right about now I'm thinking productivity may be overrated. :)
Anyway, I digress. If anyone watched Sunrise this morning, you may agree with me that I must have swallowed some goofy pills before going on air. I had some, let's call them, less-than-spectacular moments:) Looked at the wrong camera a few times, read the wrong script, you know, things we generally try to AVOID! The worst had to be at the very end of the show when I stopped short of reading something on the prompter which led to a fantastically awkward pause. Love those!! Again, I say, ah well. Shake ‘er off and try again tomorrow. Maybe a viewer or two got a laugh out of it. Maybe?? :)
During part of the rest of my shift today I drove over to the Academy of Innovative Studies Diamond Campus (the old North HS building) to talk to a teacher there about a new class she's teaching. It's about community service, and the 16 kids in the class have been learning in a hands-on way through visits to a local dog rescue. They help to take care of the dogs, clean up after them, etc. Tomorrow I'll be meeting up with them at the rescue to see them in action. I am, admittedly, not a big fan of dogs (I know, I know, what kind of person doesn't like dogs?!? Or cats for that matter…), but I'm looking forward to telling this positive story! It will air later this week—I'll keep you posted!
Well, this afternoon I get to continue pretending I am a "lady who lunches". Another fabulous date lined up with another friend (and another husband:)). So nice when everyone comes home around the holidays!!! :)
Make it a good one!
