Daviess County schools hold meeting on facilities plan

Daviess County Public Schools will hold a public forum to discuss the district's $66 million facilities plan.

Tonight's meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the DCPS Central Office on Southeastern Parkway in Owensboro.

It's being hosted by the DCPS Local Planning Committee and gives the public a chance to voice their comments and concerns on the district facilities plan.

According to school officials, the plan lists major construction and renovation projects the district is looking to take on, as well as the order in which they may begin.

The committee presented the $66 million list earlier this month.

The plan has lots of potential projects, including new classrooms at Apollo High School, roof replacement at Daviess County Middle School, and several upgrades at Daviess County High School.

After tonight's meeting, the school board will vote whether or not to approve the plan on Thursday.

Now if you can't make it to tonight's meeting, or if you'd like to take a look at the plan ahead of time, you can do that at the Central Office or any Daviess County school between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
