There's a workout called "TRX" that's popular in bigger cities like Indy and Chicago. Now it's being offered at both Evansville YMCA locations and you don't have to be a Y member to participate.
TRX means total body resistance exercise.
It uses these suspension cables to give you an intense workout.
It leverages gravity and your body weight to perform hundreds of different exercises.
"It's suspension training so it's all body weight exercises. It provides a great workout, especially for the core," said Christen Mitchell, Wellness Director.
"You can do a lot of different things with the suspension trainer. If you exercise on a regular basis, sometimes you get a little bored with your routine and to come up here and be able to do some things that are really different, really unique moves I've never done before," said Derrick Stewart, CEO.
"We're the only facility to offer it in a group setting like this and we have large group setting available so it's very unique to the area," said Mitchell.
It might look intimidating but what's nice is you're in control of how much you want to challenge yourself.
You can adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance.
"It's for all fitness levels. It can be from a beginner all the way to the elite athlete," said Mitchell.
"We wanted to make sure we created an environment that would meet the needs for all people," said Stewart.
There are morning and evening classes offered at both YMCA locations.
