DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) -

Kentucky State Police responded to an accident that caused a man to die of his injuries in Daviess County Friday night.

Troopers say a little after 9:00 p.m., 52-year-old Michael E. Philp of Lewisport was traveling east on KY 334 near Potts Road in a pickup. Authorities say his pickup went off the roadway and overturned in a large ditch on the south side of the roadway.

Philp had to be cut out of the pickup and was taken to Owensboro Mercy Health Systems, where Troopers say he later died of his injuries.

No one else was in the vehicle with Philp and authorities say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

State police are still investigating.
