An Ohio County man appeared in court for arraignment on murder charges.
Tony Berkley Sr. appeared in court Thursday morning. Berkley's pretrial conference was set for August 22, 2013 and his jury trial was scheduled for October 2, 2013. His bond was also set to $100,000.
Berkley was indicted a couple weeks ago on two counts of murder in the deaths of his 18-year-old daughter Melissa Berkley and her boyfriend, 21-year-old Jerry Goodman.
According to the Ohio County Sheriff's Office, this all began after an argument a month ago between Berkley and his daughter.
Deputies say Melissa called 9-1-1 stating that her father was chasing her and Goodman on Kentucky 878 near Kentucky 69.
Officials tell us that their car then went off the road and overturned into a nearby pond.
Both were taken to different hospitals where they died.
Berkley was originally charged with two counts of wanton endangerment before the grand jury returned the indictment charging him with murder.
He's being held in the Ohio County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.
