SALINE CO., IL (WFIE) -

Two Illinois women were taken to the hospital on Wednesday after their vehicle overturns in a ditch.

Illinois State Police say 44-year-old Karen Tresenritter was driving the car that both women were in. They were traveling southbound on Illinois Route 34 around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Troopers say as Tresenritter approached Roberts Road, she dropped something onto the floorboard, and while she was attempting to retrieve it, she drove off the roadway and onto the right shoulder. She overcorrected her steering and lost control of the vehicle causing it to cross both lanes of traffic and overturn in a drainage ditch.

Tresenritter was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for treatment of her injuries.

The passenger, 54-year-old Denise Ragsdale, was transported by ambulance to Ferrel Hospital in Eldorado, IL. for her injuries.
