Brooklyn, Ohio -
A public records request filed by 19 Action News is shedding new light on a deadly shooting rampage in a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Brooklyn last April.
Police say Kevin Allen killed his wife, Kate, and two daughters, and then Brooklyn officers killed Allen as he was leaving the restaurant. Agents from the State Bureau of Criminal Investigation under the Ohio Attorney General did an extensive follow-up investigation.
Records show Kevin Allen had threatened to kill his wife before, and his boss had ordered him to go to anger management classes. The shooting happened just after Kate Allen had told her husband she wanted a divorce.
The records also show Kate Allen had a boyfriend, and Kevin Allen had with him that night e-mails from the other man to Kate Allen, plus a scrap of paper with the other man's address.
The shooting happened as the estranged family met at the restaurant for Kerri Allen's 10th birthday. The reports shows she was found shot in a bathroom - still wearing a birthday hat with a birthday card next to her hand.
