A Hopkins County woman is in jail on assault charges after deputies say she stabbed a man.

24-year-old Amber Martin is held on a $5,000 full cash bond. At first, deputies say they were told the whole thing was an accident, but then later found out Martin and the victim were involved in a fight.

Deputies say the victim was stabbed in the chest, and had to have surgery.
