Jasper dedicates new medical center

JASPER, IN (WFIE) -

A new medical center was dedicated on Saturday in Jasper. The St. Thomas Medical Center is part of Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Officials say it's a multi-million dollar facility that features state of the art outpatient equipment. The new facility has a new physical therapy suite, physician offices, a surgery center, and a chapel.

The hospital's president and CEO, Ray Snowden, says this facility will not only be beneficial to patients, but to the future of the hospital's operations as well.

"That's really an important part of our growth and being able to recruit and retain needed specialists and surgeons of all sorts. So, I really couldn't be more pleased," Snowden said.

The facility has been under construction for 18 months.
