(Louisville, Ky.) Injured University of Louisville Center, Gorgui Dieng could return to the court ahead of schedule.

At his regular pre-game press conference on Friday, Cards' Head Coach, Rick Pitino said he is targeting U of L's December 19th home game against Florida International as the return date for Dieng. "when you're in peak form, and then you lose 10 days without doing anything, you get way out of shape. You actually are out of shape in three days, we lost 10. So, he's in very poor shape right now, but by the time next Friday comes around, we'll have him in great shape again. I'm hoping to play him in the FIU game," said Pitino.

That game is 10 days before the huge showdown with the University of Kentucky in the KFC Yum! Center. Pitino said he wanted to get Dieng some time in game action before they take on the Cats. "that's my optimism. I'd say, I think it's important to get a couple of games under your belt before the Kentucky game. I really do. I don't think you throw him in that environment and not play a few games," commented Pitino.
