It's the 71st anniversary of the date that will live in infamy, December 7th, 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.
Friday, in Owensboro veterans and their families were honored at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
Earl Davis and Albert Barnes were recognized at the service. Both men served on the USS Nevada during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Davis says he was in his bunk when the attack started and had to quickly man his battle station.
"I run up on the bridge where my battle station was and got on my five inch anti-aircraft gun with the other guys and started shooting planes," said Davis.
Davis received an award for outstanding service on the USS Nevada during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
