TRI-STATE (WFIE) -

With these cold mornings many Tri-Staters are warming up their vehicles before heading off the work or school.

There have already been at least two cases where unattended cars have been stolen.

Police say it only takes a few seconds for a thief to get in your car and drive away even if you look out the window and see what's happening.

The best advice: "Make sure you lock the doors. Make sure you have a spare key or spare key fob so you can get back in. You do not have to leave your doors unlocked to warm the car up," said Sgt. Jason Cullum, EPD.
