Southern IN murder suspects arrested

JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) – The people wanted in connection with a murder in Jeffersonville were captured Wednesday.

James Washington, 35, and Dana Eisenback, 25, had been sought for the stabbing death of Bob Eader who was found dead early Monday. The pair was arrested at Thorntons at 10th Street and Allison Lane Wednesday morning.

Eader's family members, who have returned home to Ohio, said they could not be more relieved the suspects are in custody. They said they can't thank the Jeffersonville Police Department enough as they move one step closer to justice.

"I just went to my knees and praised the Lord," said Eader's sister Nancy Noe.

Monday morning, Eader was found fatally stabbed inside his apartment on Spring Street.

Noe was devastated after hearing what had happened to her brother.

"When you first get the phone call, it's like the wind has been knocked out of you, and with this news that we got this morning, it's finally released," said Noe. "We can breathe again."

Washington and Eisenback were immediately named as suspects. Police said Washington went to Eader's apartment to sell him cocaine when Washington then attempted to rob him. Police believe that once Eader started fighting back, Washington stabbed him multiple times in the chest and slit his throat.

"They just about decapitated my brother for no reason," said Noe. "This person that did this to Bobby, he didn't know him because if he knew him, he couldn't look him in the eye and slit his throat."

Police said Eisenback was waiting in the car during the murder and that afterward the pair headed to Poplar Bluff, Missouri where the couple's child lives. Then they returned to Jeffersonville.

As for Eader's family, Noe said the hardest part is explaining to their mother that Bobby is gone.

"She's got him home for Christmas and that's what she wanted," said Noe. "We don't like the way he's coming home, but she's got him home."

Washington is charged with murder, robbery, dealing and conspiracy to deal cocaine. Police said he confessed to the murder.

Eisenback also faces cocaine charges as well as assisting a criminal.

The victim's family members said they plan to attend every court hearing.
