VOICE your vision for Evansville's future

Posted: Updated:

There's a VOICE session Wednesday afternoon and you're invited to attend.

VOICE is Evansville's community-wide, citizen-driven vision process that allows community members to share their ideas, hopes and visions for Evansville's preferred future.

That meeting will be from 3-5 p.m. at St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Evansville.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Leadership Evansville executive director Lynn Miller-Pease encourage you to come.

Through these sessions, VOICE aims to bring together diverse members of the community to discuss their dreams for Evansville in an open forum.

The facilitation is led in such a way that respectful conversations will occur, all voices will be heard, and opinions will be documented, ensuring that the entire community has the opportunity to take part in creating a desired future for Evansville.

They've had 10 VOICE sessions already and have recorded around 300 different ideas from residents.

Many common ideas, such as: revitalizing downtown and the riverfront, more focus on the environment, additional parks and embracing the community as a regional hub.

All visions from the VOICE sessions have been recorded and published on the VOICE website.
