Although the Tri-State did receive a bit of rain this weekend, most of the area is still considered abnormally dry. That's a big improvement from this summer when the entire area was in an extreme to exceptional drought.
Only the months of January, August and September have recorded higher than average rainfall. November was 3.14 inches below normal and through December 2nd, we've had 24.74 inches of rain this year. That's 12.07 inches below normal.
Last year by this time, we had already received 63.99 inches of rain.. nearly 40 inches more than this year. Of course, 2011 was an exceptionally wet year.
