OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

Kentucky Wesleyan College officials announced a multi-million dollar campus renovation project on Saturday.

The college's president, Dr. Craig Turner, said most of the upgrades in the proposed $21 million renovation plan will focus on the school's dorms.

Dr. Turner said the on-campus dorms have not been renovated in over forty years and that upgrades in plumbing and wiring, as well as the restructuring of rooms, will be a part of the renovations.

College officials also announced additional renovations would include technology upgrades to classrooms, construction of a new student housing building, and grounds renovations.

Dr. Turner said he wanted to start this 'forging the future' campaign in order to give the campus a more modern feel and attract more students.

"What we're looking for is to give the students the best possible experience in a residential campus like ours," said Dr. Turner.  "We want their dorm rooms to be attractive to them. Obviously, in the classroom we want to provide our faculty with the best possible teaching opportunities, and all our students with the best opportunities to learn."

A start date for these renovations has not yet been set.
