A Castle High School freshman is the new Riley Champion.
Cole Barnett was diagnosed with type one diabetes when he was 6-years-old.
Throughout the years, his family has spear headed local efforts to raise awareness about type one diabetes, but today was Cole's day, literally.
Castle presented Cole with a proclamation that November 30 is "Cole Barnett Day."
Riley Children's Hospital honors eight kids a year who have inspired communities with their bravery and commitment to help others.
"It's really cool. It makes me feel like I'm special and its just really cool because it's all about me," said Cole.
Cole and his family have raised more than two million dollars over the last seven years.
They hold an annual Diabetes Walk at Holiday World and also started a local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
