EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A pastor in La Porte, Indiana is trying to break a world record, while raising money for charity.

Pastor Billy Nickrand is ringing a bell for Salvation Army, and has been for a little more than 24 hours now.

His sister, Jenni Martin lives in Evansville and says her brother wants to ring the bell for at least 60 hours straight. And if he does, he'll claim the world record. His cash goal is $5,000. His sister is very proud.

"Right on the live feed it says 'donate here.' You know, if one person donates a dollar, think about how much money he can raise for the Salvation Army, and then for what he can do for the Salvation Army," said Martin.

You can donate online or watch a live stream of the bell ringing. Click here for more information.
