EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The 4th Annual 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays toy drive is in full swing in Evansville.

They want to fill a 53 foot long semi trailer with new toys that will be given to children who have to spend the holidays in local hospitals, the Ronald McDonald House and the Children's Psychiatric Center.

911 Gives Hope is made up of local emergency responders including Evansville Police, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, AMR and local fire departments.

The semi is at the Eastside Walmart.

"That's what the spirit of Christmas is," said Chief Billy Bolin, EPD. "It is giving, and it's not so much about what you get, but just about the fact that you can give something. And what I like about this is you see a lot of parents bringing their kids out to donate something to teach their kids about the spirit of giving, and so it's just a good weekend," he said.

You have until 6 Sunday night to drop off your donation. Santa will be around too.
